somerset life

A few months ago, I received an email from Jennifer Jackson at Stampington & Co. asking me if I'd be interested in having my blog featured in an upcoming issue of Somerset Life.  If only she knew how excited I was when I received her email!  Writing the article was the hard part - it was a lot tougher than I ever imagined, and if I'd known that, I probably wouldn't have agreed to do it! :)

Yesterday, I received a copy of the Autumn issue and there I was!  To say I'm thrilled with it is an understatement.  I've been a huge fan of Stampington publications since discovering them a couple of years ago and my absolute favourite is Somerset Life.   Being a part of this magazine is truly a dream come true.

Thank you Jennifer and all the staff at Stampington.  You're the best!

that just yesterday, it seems,

Farewell Summer ... hello Autumn.

20 September 2010

suddenly it's autumn

Although Autumn doesn't officially arrive until Wednesday, the signs of the changing season are everywhere.  The light is different ... a little softer and it gets dark so much earlier.  The leaves are turning colour much too quickly.  I love the burnt oranges, crimson reds and golden yellows against the vibrant blue of the sky!

As much as I love Summer, Autumn is my favourite season.  The days are cool enough to spend time in the garden but the evenings are perfect for lighting candles and making my home feel cosy.  Then there's all that glorious colour!

What's your favourite thing about Autumn?

Thanks for your wonderful comments about what you love about going to the fair and the midway.  I really enjoyed reading them.  It's nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't like the rides!

this way to the midway!

On Labour Day weekend, I decided that I absolutely had to go to the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition).  It's been exactly seven years since I'd last attended ... and, yes, I was counting!  We picked the coldest, windiest day that weekend to go but we still had a great time.  I love walking through the midway but I'm absolutely terrified of the rides.  I don't like heights at all!  Some of the rides were cancelled that day due to the high winds but I managed to get a few midway shots.

What's your favourite thing about going to a carnival?
