Notes from the garden - lily of the valley

Another favourite Spring flower - lily of the valley!  Everything bloomed 3-4 weeks late this year because of the cool weather and seemed to stick around just a little bit longer than usual.  A few years ago, I moved my lily of the valley from one side of the house to the other so that they'd have more room to spread.  And spread they are!  I'm imagining a carpet of them in a few more years.  I can't wait!

  1. They are lovely, fragrant, and invasive. Glad that you gave them their own corner! I have noticed that about the flowers. We never did get our forsythia. The lilacs have now gone by.

    1. Everything is a little "off" this year although I'm pleasantly surprised at how well some of the plants have done after such a harsh winter!

  3. Oh, they do spread!
I actually had some "jump" into 2 other gardens this year.
I was tempted to take them out, but they're so pretty.

These are such beautiful photographs, my friend.

    1. Thanks, Lisa! That's why I moved mine ... they were spreading everywhere! Now there's lots of room for them to grow.

  5. They are beautiful. I planted some bulbs in my garden one year but nothing came up. I wonder if the squirrels got them. Maybe I'll try again.
