In the Garden ... A Baby Robin

This little one was splashing around in the birdbath but hopped out just as I grabbed my camera.  Lucky for me it sat on the edge for awhile allowing me to get closer and closer as I snapped away.   Yes, I got this close.  I couldn't believe it!  We have a lot of robins this year and right now the little ones are everywhere.  I like watching them - especially when they decide to play in the birdbath.

Splashing about in the water sounds like a pretty good idea in this heat ... wow, it's HOT out there!  How do you stay cool?  I'm thinking ice cold lemonade and maybe a good book (or two).  Share your tips for keeping cool now that the hot, humid days of Summer are here!

xo, Lynda

  1. Wow, Lynda, that is such a great shot! We have a lot of little birds around here...I can't think of what they're called at the moment though. It has been so hot and humid here, but also a bit rainy...so I guess that kind of cools us off :)

  3. I think the iced green tea helps. Well, I suppose the two Air Conditioners cranking away do, too. A little water balloon fight always comes in handy, too. ;>

  5. Hello Lynda, I'm from India and in my country we quench summer's heat by drinking several glasses of 'limbu pani'. Its a drink very similar to your lemonade, but a bit more easy and quick to prepare. If you'd like to try, here's the recipe... squeeze lemon/lime juice into a glass of water and simply add sugar with a pinch of Indian black salt [optional]. It will be perfect, if I may say so :)
We had a birdbath that attracted many sparrows in the balcony of our previous house . I miss that about my present home; no balcony, no birds.

  6. Just love those little baby robins...how lucky you were able to get this close. Great capture!! Cool, well it finally cooled off here a bit, at least enough to turn off the AC which I hate running. I want my doors and windows to be open in the summertime since they are closed all winter.

    1. I love opening up the doors and windows during the summer months too. Wish I didn't have to use the a/c but then again, it's nice to have it when the temps are in the 90's! :)

  8. Oh my goodness, he is absolutely precious, and this photograph is gorgeous, Lynda!

We've not had much heat here this week, but that is changing quickly. We need rain very badly though.

Sending you wishes for a wonderful weekend.

    xo.
