I've always had a thing for old barns. I love their weathered wood and fading paint. The overgrown trees planted beside them oh so many years ago.
The doors that never seem to close anymore, allowing a peek into what's stored inside. The remnants of silos, unused now but reminders of another time.
Barns filled with the sweet fragrance of hay.
Barns that have seen better days, with missing boards and a roof that leaks when it rains.
Barns that have tiny windows to let in the light.
Barns embellished with a white star that the surrounding trees threaten to forever hide from view.
I'll share a few more barns with you in my next post ... see you soon!
Hi Lynda,
ReplyDeletephoto's like these just make me want to go skipping around someone's barn. I'm lucky to have some nice barns around my town and even get to care for someone who lives on a working dairy farm. It's a wonderful life. Barns are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI have to say these are my favorites of your photos, the barns and haybales. I love the white star! Who is maintaining these places, I wonder. Whenever I see old barns I always have to photograph them. Hope you are having a lovely early Spring Lynda!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Lynda! In my opinion, everyone loves a barn. Well who doesn’t, right? It’s a perfect place to stay in - very comfortable, and the way of living is simple. The children can play and look for an adventure everywhere, and there's fresh air everywhere. It’s just heartbreaking to see a barn that has been damaged and left throughout the years.
