winter's arrival

Last night we had our first real snowfall.  We've had flurries but this time the snow stayed on the ground.  We've been lucky ... huge amounts of snow have been falling all around us but thankfully we've been spared.

I haven't taken many photos lately ... these gray bleak days don't afford much light ... but today I decided to head outdoors to photograph the snow.  It wasn't long before I remembered why I don't like winter photography ... it's C-O-L-D!!  A few quick photos and I was more than ready to head back to the warm car.  Expect to see a lot of still life from me until the warm weather returns.

  3. Beautiful photo! Looks very cold. We are expecting more snow here which I'm actually rather bummed about so close to Christmas.

  5. Nice..I have a park bench sitting in my yard and it's so cold, it can stay there UNLOVED! I love it more in the spring time...
On a more sincere note, this picture is just lovely.
    Stay warm my good friend.

  6. I know how you feel Lynda - I desperately want to take my camera with me on my walks with Ernie as I see so many pretty spots but it is too cold for the camera (and my bare fingers) :-) The bench looks pretty with a dusting of snow.
    Have a wonderful weekend ♥

  7. lol... I hear you!
I had great intentions to go out and take some pictures today, but it is blowing so hard out there, my images would all end up blurry anyway! So, better to stay inside, make a warm cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the quiet cozy inside as I watch the swaying trees from my window.

Wishing you a most wonderful Christmas Lynda. xo

  9. Oh, that looks like here, Lynda... Like you, I've not been taking so many photos, and I notice the month of December I've not been taking nearly as many photos compared to this same time last year due to the weather being not very good some days/weeks. I fear my December posts this year have been rather dull... LOL! Happy Days ((HUGS))
