Thank you Artful Blogging!
It's a good thing Jennifer Jackson Taylor couldn't see me jumping up and down when she emailed me in August asking if I'd be interested in contributing an article for the Winter issue of Artful Blogging. Interested? Of course I was interested! After the initial euphoria wore off, I realized that I would actually have to write something. While I may have days where I dream of being a writer, let's just say that I think I'm better at the photography part.
Somehow I managed to take a deep breath and reach deep into my soul to write about my blogging experience. But to actually see those words, along with my photos, in print makes me giddy with excitement. I still have to pinch myself to believe it!
Thank you Jennifer and everyone at Stampington & Company for publishing such wonderful, creative and inspiring magazines. Thank you for creating a place where ordinary artists, bloggers and crafters have an opportunity to share our stories and our art. And thank you for letting me tell my story.

ReplyDeleteI loved your article, Lynda, and your photography is so lovely! The winter issue of Artful Blogging was the first one I'd purchased. I had resisted the temptation to buy it previously, but two ladies whose blogs I love have articles in it, so I decided to treat myself :~) Thanks to the winter issue I am following several more blogs, including yours!

Aside from the fact that this magazine featured you (not to minimize that great honor and congratulations!) I need to ask a very practical question. I am a beginning blogger, without much necessary background except using e-mail. I looked on-line at this publication and found that it costs $59.00 a year. OUCH! Is this magazine really worth that?
ReplyDeleteI am 61 years old, have a traditional communications and 35mm camera photography background and struggle with this new media but I am determined to learn. I am saving for a new digital camera at this time.
Is this publication mostly about the stories of bloggers, or is it about the "How to" to start blogging. While I am sure these stories are truly inspirational, the "how to" is what I really need right now. I live rurally and its a 45 minute drive to a magazine store that "might" carry this magazine for me to look at.
I'd sincerely appreciate any suggestions about the "easiest" place to start learning and your comments to my questions will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you!
