Burnt Orange Season

Hello friends!

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my calendars!  These are the first I've offered for sale and I'm so excited about them.

I'm using my new computer but as I've mentioned to some of you, the transition didn't go quite as smoothly as we'd hoped.  My husband actually got the brand new computer and I'm using his old one, which he's only had for about a year and a half.  I was quite happy about that as my computer was 6+ years old and getting slower by the day.  To make a very long story short, we've had problems with everything from discovering I was using pirated software (which I bought online from what I thought was a legitimate source) to having my camera USB cord not work on my new computer.  Everything does have a happy ending though ... while I'm out the money for the pirated software, I was able to purchase a legitimate version from Adobe.  And we found a USB cord from an old camera that works just fine.  Minor (major to me!) glitches keep popping up here and there but I'm lucky that my husband is a computer geek and able to fix them.  He has so much patience!

But enough computer talk ...

Autumn is my favourite season. I love all the colours but burnt orange is my favourite. I bought lots of these mini pumpkins to use around my home as decorations.

I love how the light makes these maple leaves look like they're glowing!

Pie pumpkins in wooden crates waiting to be used for decorating ... or if you're really energetic, in pumpkin pies. I prefer using canned pumpkin ... this is just way too much work!

Pumpkins ready to be carved into jack o' lanterns for Halloween sit in straw at a local pumpkin patch.

And who knew pumpkins grew on trees!   Every Fall a local farm hangs pie pumpkins from their trees ... so fun and guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.

Glad to hear you are working out the glitches with the new computer...it sounds like it's been a nightmare for you -- but your husband is a dream come true!!! xo

  2. FARYTALE - PICS, cara Lynda....!!!

I do love orange therefore these marvellous compositions "in orange" are so very beautiful; the leaves...the white & orange pumpkins & on top of it pumkins in the tree....FABULOUS; what an original charming deco-idea!!!!!

(What do think the birds of it?)

Have a beautiful sunny week, Lynda!

(apropos cinghy-jasmine: she will stay for sure a view more months with us; hunting season starts soon; she wouldn't be safe then in our woods; so happily we will keep her for another while.....!!!)
    ciao ciao elvira

  4. The pumpkins hanging from the tree are funny! A real unique idea! I hope you had a good time shooting the pumpkins. The images are warm and seasonal.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'll shoot anything this fall! By the way, are you on Google+? I didn't see you but a lot of bloggers/photographers are.

  5. I love white pumpkins for some reason...I'm thinking of picking some up and doing some vignettes with flowers..
Unfortunately RI is not experiencing ANY color this season. The hurricane in August damaged our trees and leaves so badly with salt that they are just basically dying with no color. It's very sad! SO thanks for providing some color! :)

  7. Glad you're back online, Lynda... and all going better with the new computer! Sometimes those transitions don't got as smooth as we imagine at first. We had a similar problem with software once--shocked to discover it was pirated, and not only that that we had some junk on our pc because of it! But all ends well, in the end. LOVING, so loving these tastes of autumn here today... autumn deliciousness...mmm... Happy Days ((HUGS))

  8. Oh your computer challenges do not sound fun. I'm glad that you have a good techie in your hubby. These sorts of things frazzle me.

Beautiful oranges. If I were to take a quiz on your preferences, I'd flunk as I'd never select orange as a favorite of yours. You certainly give it a glorious look.

  9. Oh, I know what you mean! I always dread the whole new computer thing, as it simply never goes smoothly, no matter how hard I try! Hopefully things are getting back to normal for you.

Your photographs are just wonderful. Such gorgeous autumn colors!

  10. Beautiful photos, Lynda. The orange gives them such a nice glow. While I'd love to have a new computer, I think about what a nightmare the whole thing is to set up. You're lucky your husband loves that kind of thing. Mine knows absolutely nothing about computers. He only just started doing email in the last few months. Seriously.

    Hope you're having a good week :)
