I awoke the other morning to find that a heavy frost had covered everything in the garden. Before the sun had a chance to melt its beauty, I grabbed my camera and headed outside.
The frost had left a dusting of icy crystals, sparkling like tiny jewels in the early morning sunlight, on the remaining flowers and fallen leaves.
It was somewhat bittersweet because as beautiful as the frost looked, my garden began to wilt under its touch.
Another gardening season has come to an end.

ReplyDeleteOoo...pretty...sparkly... something about that very last photo, bottom right, really tugs at the heartstrings... :o) It's been very frosty here for a couple of weeks now. I've not be out & about with camera in some days, as I've had a cold. Keep warm, Lynda! Happy Days ((HUGS))

ReplyDeleteDear Lynda,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to frost and soon snow. We had snow before we had frost. I love how the frost glistens on the leaves and petal's. Makes me sad too knowing the frost is really harmful to all that grows..but the camera loves it! Very nice..
These are beautiful photographs Lynda!
ReplyDeleteSending you wishes for a wonderful start to your week!
beautiful frosty captures, lynda - I like that you appreciate that quiet beauty. :)
ReplyDeleteOh that wonderful frost. Great for photography isn't it? I'd say that gardening is over but the truth is I have bags of bulbs to plant still. Tomorrow my husband is going to help me do just that. I can hardly wait till Spring!
ReplyDeleteSo, today I happened to be browsing through the latest edition of Artful Blogging and what did I see? You!!! Or your work anyway. I bought the magazine (first time ever) and plan on sitting down when I have a quiet moment to enjoy all the glorious photography it has to offer : )
Congratulations, Lynda!
