Come into my garden ...

... so I can show you what's blooming!

I've planted bleeding heart in a few places in the garden before finding just the right spot for it.  The "King of Hearts" blooms all summer long, right up until frost, as long as it's deadheaded regularly.

My redbud is like a pink cloud in the Spring!  Once the soft pink flowers have faded,  it has the prettiest heart shaped leaves.

A dwarf iris, transplanted from my Mom's garden last Fall, blooms for the first time.  It's such a gorgeous shade of purple.  Virginia bluebells bloom in clusters of soft blue flowers and spread themselves everywhere.  I don't mind because they die back after blooming, leaving no trace until next Spring.

And lilacs.  They never last long enough but I can't imagine a Spring without them!  I've got more lilac photos to share with you in my next post.

  1. all of my favoutites!!! THIS is why I love spring! And you -- you make me strive to be a better photographer!

  2. Your garden flowers are lovely, Lynda! All of our lilacs have gone by. It was so quick. I'm excited that June is upon us as it yields some of the best flowers but is very fleeting.

  3. Isn't that the truth? Some of the dearest flowers of spring have no staying power. I have irises blooming in my garden that I transplanted from my mother's. So glad I did.

  4. Gorgeous gifts from nature ~ captured so beautifully! Have been enjoying all my flowers too :-)
Thank you for sharing yours ~ Rebecca

  5. Oh my goodness...just beautiful!

  6. This is why I follow. Between you and Artful Nuance, my screen is a pictorial splendor!

  7. DELICIOUS spring glory from your garden, Lynda... you have such a great way of capturing the magic of the seasons! So very glad to see in a previous post that your parents are doing better... Lovely to be back and catching up with you here after our travels. I think we'll need the weekend to get over the jet lag and get back on track. ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

  8. Lovely dear Lynda. Your beautiful blog always make me smile. Happy weekend to you!
