Last week we had to go downtown Toronto for an appointment. I brought my camera along so I could share a little bit of the city with you. We were near Chinatown and these colourful lanterns were hanging around an outdoor patio. Fran's Restaurant has been a Toronto landmark for 60 years ... it's near where my Dad used to work and I remember going there with him.
After our appointment, we headed to Kensington Market to do a little shopping. Kensington is full of artists and I love the artwork on some of the buildings.
50's crinolines in all colours hang outside a vintage clothing shop.
Kensington Market has THE best vintage clothing shops anywhere! And they're all on one street making it easy to shop. If you look closely at the King of Kensington shop sign, at the top of his chest is tatooed "In Vintage We Trust". Love it!
And where else but Kensington Market would you find bubbles floating in the air and watermelons hanging from colourful strings?
Very much enjoyed this taste of the city, Lynda... LOVE the frilly skirts, bubbles and melons...mmm... Happy Week :o) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteFabulous photographs Lynda. I went to Kensington last month -- it's such a vibrant spot...the best part of the beautiful photographs is being able to see it all without the smell. It can be rather "ripe"!!! lol!! xo
ReplyDeleteSome fabulous choices made here Lynda. I love each shot - but the crinolines are exceptional!
ReplyDeleteLynda, I LOVE each and every one of these – such character and whimsey and beautifully done. A change for you but a delightful one! xo – g
ReplyDeleteThis represents a change from what I usually find here...what fun. Such bright and vibrant colors and I think watermelons hanging by strings is a wonderful idea.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos. You may or may not be interested to know that in 1999 me and my husband (still my boyfriend back then) had our Christmas day dinner in Frans!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Lynda, I love these random and kitschy signs and things! Never been to Toronto, I would love to go!
